Overview:
Jacobs is seeking experienced Paint Technicians to join their team in Spartanburg, SC.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the Preventive and Corrective maintenance of the Paint Conveyance systems through phosphate and e-coat tanks, as well as the Paint/Air separation system in the Base coat and Clear Coat Booths. This is brand new, very advanced equipment, with a required equipment availability of 98%. Candidates must have a continuous improvement mindset and be able to perform Green Belt/ Black Belt projects and perform root cause analysis on faulty equipment and provide proper feedback to other team members. Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate clearly in both verbal and written form.
Qualifications:
Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing/ maintenance, specifically with Paint equipment. Candidate must have experience with Paint conveyance systems, e-coat and phosphate tanks, and paint/ air separation systems. Experience with Preventative maintenance a plus. Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to multi-task is required. Must have a continuous improvement mindset and experience with Green Belt/ Black belt, or similar improvement projects. Must be adept at root cause analysis of equipment breakdowns, FRACAS and equipment warranty and design issues.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform field work in tight spaces, maneuver in and around facility equipment while obtaining measurements and performing equipment inspections and troubleshooting. Requires the physical ability to walk around large facility, up/down stairs, climb fixed ladders, etc. 25%
Work Environment:
Field work may bring individual into close proximity of extreme high or low temperatures, high speed rotating equipment and high noise levels; primarily inside, occassionally outside
Equipment and Machines:
Work with general office equipment (computers, fax, telephones, copiers, etc.) 75%
Work with hand held test equipment 10%
Attendance:
Regular attendance is mandatory
Occasional overtime is required as needed to meet project schedules 25%
